This is American Heart Month. Here are 3 ways to keep your heart happy and healthy:
1. Exercise. Brisk walking is the most practical and safe way to get a moderate work-out and increase your heart rate. Moderate exercise meaning that you work hard enough to raise your heart rate and break a sweat, but can still carry on a conversation. Exercise can lower blood pressure, improve blood cholesterol levels, improve your mood, help you take off weight, maintain healthy bones, muscles and joints and help keep you young.
2. Choose to be happy. Love and be loved. Your state of happiness greatly affects the health and flexibility of your heart.
3. Be on-purpose. Serving your purpose and contributing to the world in the unique way that only you can leads to a strong, happy heart.
Permission to Heal
This month I asked my colleague John if I could share his article on Permission.
John has an amazing healing center in Sedona, Arizona.
Do you recognize any of these questions or phrases?
"Who gave you permission to do that?
"Do you have permission?"
"I didn't give you permission!"
"It's Ok, 'so' and 'so' gave me permission"
I'm sure that we have all come across some of these phrases at some time, not surprising then that so many of us find it difficult to live truly authentic lives. It's difficult to live the life we came here to live, if we feel we don't have permission to live it. From an early age it seems that most of us are taught that our permission is something outside of us, in some cases beyond our reach. Something that we have to ask for, earn, buy or attain from others. The thought of us giving ourselves permission, to many people would be a new and possibly uncomfortable concept.
When I cover the topic of permission in my classes and workshops using terms like these:
"Know that you have permission to live your life the way you want to live it"
"Know that your life experience is separate and unique from every-one else's and that it belongs to you"
Often times it sparks an emotional reaction. These are truths not realized or lived by many people. True because our physical, energetic and spiritual selves belong to us, as do our experiences, feelings and memories.
Again, it is surprising how many people have visited me for a healing and yet, can't give themselves permission to get well. Their spiritual being does the job of dragging their Physical body to the consultation, then the ROAD BLOCK! On an energetic, emotional or mental level, they don't know how to give themselves permission to live without DIS-EASE, centered and balanced in wellness. Without the permission from self to receive the healing and to get well, no amount of healing energy will make a difference. It's like water running off a Teflon surface... It simply won't stick! Conversely, those who are able to give themselves permission to get well can make amazing recoveries in a very short period of time.
Lavender Oil
Lavender is a magic oil that has been used for centuries for its properties of relaxing, anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving. It is an essential oil that is safe for babies, children, and animals.
Here are 4 ways to use this oil:
*To prevent dandruff, add a few drops to your final hair rinse after shampooing.
*Dab pimples morning and night with a drop of Lavender oil.
*Apply Lavender to your wrists and temples and inhale to relieve anxiety.
*To relieve menstrual pain, gently massage the tummy and lower back with Lavender oil. Dilute if necessary.
Here is the oil I personally use and recommend:
Wanna Help? http://www.kiva.org/ is an organization that connects you the lender of money to an entrepreneur to empower themselves. They believe the way to end proverty and lack is for people to work for themselves and practice self-reliance.
