Ladies - when you are beginning your monthly cycle and craving sweets try having a dessert with cinnamon in it. Cinnamon may help lessen cramps and it will regulate sugar highs.
Pistachios for a Healthy Heart
This pretty little green nut contains phytosterols - a substance that blocks your body from absorbing cholesterol. A small handful of pistachios daily may help prevent your arteries from clogging, keep your blood vessels clean, and your heart healthy and strong. Yum!
Honey-Thyme Butter Recipe
From Chef Jose Garces in Philadelphia. Try this on corn bread.
1/4 cup acacia honey
(my note: mild & very sweet, cleanses the liver, from acacia flowers)
6 sprigs fresh thyme
4 ounces butter, softened
(my note: organic, unsalted)
Salt, to taste
(my note: use a tiny sprinkle of delicate flavored sea salt, it's healthier)
1. In a small sauce-pot combine honey and thyme and set over medium heat, steeping together until very fragrant and honey just starts to boil.
2. Carefully remove from heat and strain honey into small mixing bowl. Add butter and whisk together until creamy.
3. Season to taste with salt and store in airtight container.
